Zeta Alpha Chapter at Texas Tech University

Kappa Delta

Letter to Parents

Dear Parents,

We are so proud and excited to welcome your daughter into the Zeta Alpha chapter of Kappa Delta at Texas Tech University. Your daughter has gained a group of girls that will be there for her through thick and thin and make adjusting to college that much easier. These women are not only your daughter’s lifetime friends but also her sisters. In Kappa Delta, we encourage our members to express their individualism and be the best version of themselves, without trying to change them. She will form a bond unlike any other with her sisters, gain a large support system, and find her home away from home.

Our chapter holds its members to a high academic standard. Members are required to maintain a minimum of a 2.75 GPA per semester. We provide many resources in order to encourage each member’s academic success. With these resources being offered our chapter was able to win the “Outstanding Academic Program” in 2014. We also encourage our members to get involved within the university by joining organizations that can benefit and aid them academically.

In addition to academics, our chapter is extremely involved with philanthropic interests. Locally, we raise money for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lubbock and our chapter is actually one of the main reasons that the Children’s Advocacy Center is still open. Lubbock has one of the highest rates of child abuse in Texas and your daughters help support the fight against it. Our members also work with the local Girl Scout troops to promote self-confidence and help them earn badges. All of our philanthropic goals are centered on a platform of confidence as we strive to inspire confidence within our community and members. One way we do so, specifically, is by writing inspirational messages and handing them out with candy. Through doing so we’ve learned how a small gesture can go a long way.

All of this leads to the success of our chapter and would not be possible without the love and support our members receive from you, their parents. We thank you for entrusting your daughters with us and appreciate all of the time and commitment you put into helping us make the Zeta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta at Texas Tech University the best it could possibly be.
